Most of you probably recall the Wil-Mac. It was a fixture in Falls Creek life for a lot of years. I'm guessing on the years here, but it must have opened in the very early '60's, and was probably there for at least 25 years....maybe a few more. It was run by John and Wilma McCallus(sp?). They had 3 daughters...Margie, Patty & Shirley. I'd guess this picture to be sometime in the 70's...

I liked their food there and you could always get a little entertainment from the domestic spats that were 24/7. Gotta love that little mustache on John. He looked like a Russian spy..................It was graced by a hint of parkinsons or something. He always had a twitch..........

If we go back to the days before the Wil-Mac, it was D'Anna's Store. I can vaguely remember being in D'Anna's, my most vivid memory is that it was very smoke filled... Funny how some things stick in your mind... If we could get a few members of the generation just before mine, they could fill us in on D'Anna's, I'm sure.

You're really testing my memory, but Jim had some pinball machines there and a lot of junk. Sort of the precursor of a modern day convenience store and an old time hangout for the old guys to sit around and bitch about everything. A lot of that also went on at Chub Caldwell's gas station. Seemed like the regulars had assigned seats every day.

I remember D'Anna's, however, I was only in it once that I remember of. I remember it was Sunday and he was in a hurry to close to get to Parker's Dam. Mrs. Breakey's little store across from the Hardware was a popular place for the kids to get popscicles and candy. She also sold newspapers.

I only ever ate in there twice in my life. It sure doesn't look like this now. He really kept the place up.
