Hey everybody. Blaine Clark here. I'm a member of the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind through the local chapter for the Clearfield and Jefferson counties area. I'm the Publicity and Awareness committee chair and on the Web Committee for the State chapter. We're grandfathered through the American Council of the Blind. We're going to get together with the Lions Club and have a Picnic in the Dark sometime this summer at their Sky Lodge. We're going to try to set up indoor and outdoor games for blindfolded guests and then have a catered picnic dinner, also blindfolded! I'm getting the word out and looking for volunteers for planning the best day, the day's schedule and some games. We'd also like to put on a few skits portraying some of the actual things that the vision impaired run into (pun intended!) when dealing with the public. Our little chapter is looking for used computers to load a version of Linux onto and offer for shipping costs to the visually impaired. This is a pilot project that we are sure will catch on with other ACB chapters across the country! A link about us and our projects is here; pcb1.org/hbc/index.html
