How about some alternative ideas to turkey for thanksgiving. My wife isn't the best cook when it comes to turkey dispite the instant timer poppers etc. I eat turkey for Christmas, and although this may seem blasphemous to Thanksgiving traditionalists, does anybody have any alternatives to Mr. butterball? I have been eating turkey for all my life and I was just wondering if anybody else has some ideas to forgoe Mr Tom and be a peta guy this year.

Ham would probably be the most common alternative.
Prime Rib would be a good option.

How about Italian? Lasagna, Carbonara or just spagetti and meatballs, garlic bread and a nice big salad. Now I am hungry. Carbonara: Fry up some bacon, add a small container of cream, (I use half and half) stir in some parmasan cheese, it will thicken, then pour over pasta. I use spagetti. Good stuff!

Ooooohhhhh Carbonara and Prime Rib. Sounds great!! Thanks for the ideas guyz. I think I will substitute linguine instead of spagetti. Doesn't taste any better, but it sounds cooler....Haven't had prime rib in a while....And perhaps a bottle of lambrusco to wash it down.......Pumpkin pie with dream whip and a good cup of columbian coffee for desert......I did say COFFEE grady. Thanks again teabab, never heard of carbonara, but sounds great.....

Oops! I forgot to tell you to add two egg yolks to the cream, just wisk it in. Cook over low heat and just stir until it thickens. I add about a cup of parmasan. You can use ham if you want to instead of the bacon. This is my 30 minute go to meal. Enjoy!
