Some people, especially our younger members, might not know who Irish Mary was. Of course I'm not sure I even know that much about her.... She must have been of some notoriety though as a large tract of woods and farmland has been known as "Irish Mary's" for many years. There is even and "Irish Mary's Rd." Maybe some of our members can shed some light on the "rest of the story" about Irish Mary.

What, no Irish Mary tales?
Surely some of you people out there know a little background on this old gal. What was her claim to fame?

This is the first I've ever heard of her but I'd like to learn more.

Well since we haven't gotten any real stories about Irish Mary I thought I would add a Bull---- story. I can remember back in the day when I would meet old Mary halfway to F.C. I would have a couple bottles of mad dog 20-20 for her( She loved that stuff) and she would have some tomatoes and squash in her basket for me. She would give me a pinch of her snuff and we would sit there and see who could spit the farthest , we would laugh and laugh. Oh those were the days chewing snuff and drinking mad dog with Mary. Sometimes my mind just wanders Now I don't doubt that you and one of your old..ah...err....female acquaintances sat around slugging Mad Dog and chawin' tobacky....and her name could have even been Mary.....but unless your mind is wandering into a previous life, it sure wasn't Irish Mary.
