Many of you probably remember Bob Gusheroski, a teacher and principal at the Falls Creek Elementary School.

Robert Marland Gusheroski, 78, West Sheridan Avenue, DuBois, died Thursday at his residence.
Born Feb. 25, 1930, in Cleveland, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Lillian Adelaide Vivian Gusheroski.
He was a 1948 graduate of Sandy High School and a 1952 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in education. He also received a master's degree in education from Clarion University. He was head teacher at Olive Avenue and Falls Creek Elementary Schools and retired from Juniata Elementary School. He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. He was a member of DuBois Area School Retirees, DuBois Area Education Association and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. He enjoyed reading.
He is survived by several cousins.

But the story doesn't end there. Here is an interesting article about him that appeared in today's Courier.
Three DuBois groups share $1 million bequest
08/06/2009
Three area organizations are the benefactors of a local teacher's lifetime of savings.
The DuBois Public Library, the Salvation Army and Lakeside United Methodist Church each received $347,500 from the estate of the late Robert Gusheroski, a 37-year teacher and administrator in the DuBois Area School District.
Lucius Vivian, a cousin of Gusheroski's and resident of Murrays Summit near Reynoldsville, was executor of the estate. He said Gusheroski, who died in April 2008, lived a modest, frugal life in his DuBois home.
Gusheroski was an elementary teacher at Olive Avenue and Juniata schools, then principal of Falls Creek School, Vivian said.
To say the groups were surprised by the gifts, distributed Wednesday, is to put it mildly.
Leah Green, DuBois Public Library director, said it's not unusual for the library to be the recipient of money left in a will, especially that of a teacher. But, she said, "My jaw probably hit the floor when I opened the letter and saw how much money had been given to us."
The money given to the library will be used on two capital projects, beginning with refurbishing of the adult library. Chairs, computers and other furniture will be replaced. The second part of the money will be used to address better use of the children's library. Green said that may entail renovations or rearranging existing furnishings.
Vivian said, "He (Gusheroski) felt it was important to educate young people, have them be well-read and be informed."
Janine Johnson represented Lakeside Methodist Church and said the money will be put into an endowment fund. Short term, money will be used for capital improvements such as expanding the area for adult and children's spaces, mission work and general ministries.
"We've been looking for more room for these programs (adult and children)," Johnson said. Included in the mission work is the Won by One youth and adult mission work in Honduras. Long term, the money will be used as a down payment on the purchase of a parsonage. Pastor Robert Zilhaver and Assistant Pastors John and Ellen Bullock were not able to attend.
Major David Maddock and Major Robin Maddock of the Salvation Army said their share of the money will be placed in a capital account to be used on future projects, including buildings and properties in the DuBois area. Recently, the money was used to remove a home beside the Salvation Army headquarters to make room for a fenced-in area for children's play.
"This is a real blessing for the Salvation Army," Major Robin Maddock said.
Attorney Anthony Guido said 99 percent - more than $1 million - of Gusheroski's estate went to the three organizations.
