I was never a fan either, but he was a true superstar and people my age watched him grow from his beginnings with the Jackson Five, to becoming the star of that group, and on to one of the most popular individual artists of all time.
His decline, both personally and professionally, was a real tragedy. One has to wonder what really happened, what snapped in his mind? It sure proves that money and fame don't assure one's happiness.
