I've been watching prices for external hard drives, and this Hitachi 640 GB model is about as cheap as I've seen for the size, at least in a high quality unit. I liked it so well, I bought two. Seems to be well made, other similar Hitachi models get excellent reviews. I prefer to back up my files manually, but I found the supplied back-up software pretty simple and straight forward, if you prefer to use a program to do your backing up. Now I can quit burning all those DVD's to back up my music files.... Here is the link to the deal...... Tiger Direct Link to 640GB Hitachi Hard Drive

And if you feel the need for even more storage, here is a great deal on a 1TB model (1000GB) I couldn't find much info on it, but Iomega seems to be a pretty respected brand. The price, at 9¢ a GB, is even better that the one I bought, it was like 9.4¢ per GB. For what it's worth, I've seen other ads in the past week bragging that their 10¢ a GB was unbeatable. I waited to long to order the Iomega hard drive, they were all gone . I'll have to be a little faster next time. This really isn't important but I think it takes me to 100 post and full member status

I guess I should have said something about acting fast. Those great deals usually sell out quickly, sometimes in one day.
So if you're ready to pull the trigger grady, keep checking back, I'll find you another deal soon.

Jeez ain't that the truth !! I'd probably be living in a mansion and driving a Lincoln if it wasn't for Scott talking me into buying things !! Oh by the way I got that 1TB hard drive and picked up a mutiport USB at the same time to save on shipping. Oh well who needs a mansion anyways, Just more rooms to clean and more upkeep. And it would be kind of hard to carry 2x 4's in a Lincoln.

Did you forget about these grady? Of course if you can afford this, why carry 2x4s? You could pay somebody else to do it....... ;D
