Hard to believe, when you look at the Mudhole today, that it was a popular swimming hole at one time. I guess the youth of those days were more energetic than they are today. All these swimming holes were dammed up to be quite a bit deeper, just by piling rocks up and making a makeshift dam. Of course the spring high waters knocked out the dams and we had to build them back up each summer. But then again, what else did we have to do....   |
