This is a part of Falls Creek history, but since my pictures are recent, I put it here. The building is a remnant of the "Tannery". It was a hangout for the towns youth for a lot of years. I'll bet there are names still scratched on the walls from the teens a generation before me, it must have been the "in" thing back then. I remember some of our members names there. It was a short walk from town when we had the footbridge to cross. Back in the '60's and '70's most of the roof was still intact. But as you'll see in the pictures it is pretty much just walls left today.

Somebody needs to go down there and see if those old names are still on the walls. How about it longbeard? Snap some pictures of those names, if they are still legible.... ;D
While you're down there take a walk down by the creek, up stream a little way from the old footbridge, and see if you can get a picture of the "bubbling springs".

A couple of us kids use to go over to the Tannery and watch some older guys gamble. Seems like there was some big money on the table.

This was the Power House for the Tannery and it is still there below Triangle Tech. There was once a tall smoke stack there in the days before the interstate. Residents were afraid of it falling on some of the homes or pieces falling off hurting someone. My Uncle Oscar said he dynamited it laying it down like a tree.
