My sister and I were reminiscing last weekend about going to the movies at the Avenue in DuBois when they had the Saturday Matinee.
Our dad had run us up town and dropped us off at the theater and we were to catch the bus at 4 p.m. and ride it back to Falls Creek.
Well the movies ran over and we couldn't see the clock. Not only did we miss the bus but we also weren't allowed back in the theater, so we had to stand outside the 5 & 10 across from the Methodist Church till the next bus ran at 6 p.m. Arriving at Hicks's Garage we had to walk out over the creek past Snell's junk yard to get home. We stopped at my Uncle's house on the borough line and my Aunt had me call my mother who was furious we hadn't caught the four o'clock bus.
I remember some times we had to sit and wait until they got enough passengers to go to Dubois before they would start out. Seems I remember George Smith drove the bus.

Shamu, Do you remember the lady that walked up and down the center aisle and clapped her hands saying the movie would not start till everyone sat down and was quite.
