I'm sure a lot of Falls Creek people remember Jeanne-daughter of Ray & Kay Welsh (co-owners of Phillips' Hardware on Main St for years). Jeanne passed away this week in Napierville, Illinois after suffering from cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Cowan, both parents and her brother Donald "Dale" Welsh. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine and son David, both of Napierville. Jeanne-you will be missed by all who remember you.

I knew Ray Welsh well, I knew he had a daughter although never met her. The Falls Creek Hardware, now that is worth a chat. There was one place that had more things in one little storefront than Wal-Mart had. What ever you needed, Jim and Ray had it. I remember many Christmas trees beeing purchased at the hardware. It didn't matter what time of day or night it was. If you had an inssue with a hot water heater or your furnace in the winter, the boys at the hardware were always there to fix you up. There isn't service like that anymore....sadly. I'm not sure when the hardware ceased operations. Maybe one of you Falls Creekites could answer that question
