I have heard different reports from sources in Jefferson/Clearfield county. I was just wondering how bad is the snow, and is it one of the biggest in recent memory? We had a skiff two weeks ago, about 2 inches and the the govenor declared a state of emergency (no lie) and schools were closed for 3 some 4 days. It is very windy, and it rained yesterday, but no snow so far. It is sunny but cold (40s) and always flood warnings and standing water in yards is a frequent site. I can't believe they closed schools for 2 days I heard in PA? Would someone post some pics? What is the total accumulation in your area thus far?

Its not that bad, we got about 12 inches or so. Now if we could get lucky and pick up another foot or so, it would feel like a REAL PA winter for a change.

No big deal in this part of the state. Not much snow at all, not close to what we've had on the ground even in recent years.
Mostly just a typical over reaction by both the media & government.
Those living south of us, where the snow was measured in feet, might have a different perspective.

In Somerset we got 28 inches on Saturday, then another foot plus yesterday and still snowing. I have 6 foot drifts in my yard and the snow is 3 feet up my patio door window. Bizarre! The roads are passable, but my daughter lives near the Garrett Shortcut and they always close that road. All we get done is snow-blow and shovel......oh my back! Spring cannot come soon enough for me!

Wow big dif between northwestern PA and south central PA. I've seen some films of the DC area, Philly, and Baltimore. They got abused by old man winter, but it is about time they got their share. Just wanted to say hey to everyone up north, I thought the website froze up with all the weather. Nobody was on for a good spell and I thought they built a super Walmart in Pete's old gas station lot and everyone went shopping. Take care all and may the fleas of a thousand blood hounds invade Punxy Phils underground sanctuary and cause him misery until spring arrives!

Well it's like this polecat2. The sun always shines here, trouble is that it has been in the 40s for about 3 weeks now. We got 2 inches of snow tonight, and it is really cool looking because it is 34 degrees and it is just hanging on the trees. It will all be gone tomorrow. The fact of the matter is, I would choose North Carolina over PA for 10 out of 12 months for the weather. I endured snow and gloomy skies every winter for >50 yrs. It is so nice to get up every morning and have sunshine and fairly warm weather in the winter months. Bad part of the tarheel is that the summer is abusive, so when I get as much money as the admninstrator, I will venture up north for 2 months and catch the keystone summer, then run back here. Thats just me. I understand not everybody likes the south, and thats OK. Hope everyone is well and the snow plows continue to roll on. The nascar season is upon us now so if anyone is in a fantasy league, good luck. I was hoping for the administrator to get something going, but I am in a league that a friend in Florida has going. Happy racing!!!

Funny think I been thinking about heading down south to. Retirement may coming soon for this old boy, so I am thinking about heading south and find a retirement job and warm up my old bones. No more ZERO weather to beat your body up, no more snow to shovel and after three weeks of looking at all that white, your eyes hurt. Beginning to like green grass and warm weather more and more every pasting year. So if you see a PA truck going through North Carolina it may be me looking for a retirement job.
