I was just wondering how many brave (or crazy) souls actually do the black friday shopping madness thing. I am not sure how it is elsewhere, but it has become almost a right to passage for mother and daughter in some areas. I personally don't indulge, but I know many souls who get up @ 0400 and stand in line for that favorite bargain and the little snow globe trinklet JC Penney hands out annually. I think it is good on one hand to see people out shopping and having breakfast together to get the holiday season off to a start, but on the other hand some one always gets injured or stomped in the melee that always pops up somewhere. It's all fun and games until someone gets stomped to death at Kohlepp's Hardware fighting over a limited supply of Cabbage Patch Dolls. Any witnessed experiences of violence by anyone? Where have we come as a society that we have to have armed guards and pepper spray at doors of Wal-Mart to prevent our material gluttony from turning violent. What happened to the true spirit of the Christmas? Oh thats right.... it is in aisle 5 behind the wrapping paper....

Hell, I never got up that early to go deer hunting I sure wouldn't do it for shopping. And stand in line to spend money....you have to be kidding me.
In my younger days, when I actually shopped in malls, Black Friday was too early in the season. I did my shopping around the 23rd of December. Then when I started to get a little more chronologically gifted, and wiser, I started doing 90% of my Christmas shopping from catalogs...mailorder. But now, and for the last 10 years, it's online shopping for me....no lines, set my own hours, no need to get dressed, no gasoline or time wasted and a much better selection.
