Falls Creek mulls Web site06/05/2009 Following discussion about the potential for a Senate Bill to allow local governments to take public notices out of newspapers and put them on Web sites, the Falls Creek Borough council decided to look into the cost of establishing a home on the Internet. "I don't know where it is now, and I haven't heard anything since, but the Legislature was considering passing a bill where local municipalities would not have to advertise in the newspaper if they have a Web site," Councilman James Kaschalk said Monday. "I always thought we should have a web site to sell Falls Creek - where we're at, what we're doing, where we're going." Kaschalk said the borough got a bill from the Courier-Express for $700 for legal advertising two weeks ago. "That's a lot of money," Kaschalk said. Councilwoman Denise Katchmarchi said a Web site would also be an asset because the borough could post snow removal days, water flushing days and any other special events which are going on in the borough. Borough Consultant Lu Inzana said he recently had a Web site built and it cost around $240. The council instructed borough Secretary Cindy Fritz to seek quotes for a site before the next meeting.www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=20326439&BRD=2758&PAG=461&dept_id=572984&rfi=6
