Sure do remember the bus going to edgewood skating ring, never won any races but did injoy the hopey pokey dance, put your right foot in put right foot out and shake it all about....... Didn't the bingo game have big red flashin lights on top? Mind is foggy on this, must a been the ride home on the bus home gettin the lip stick George Garthwaite Graduated from school joined the army or navy never seen him after that. kind remember going to dead mans cave with Geo, Danny Armagost, Danny Spinda, Jerry Wies and others from town going all the way back in that cave sure was dark, when we got back out Ted Felix was always hollering at us to get out of there. I can remember going fishin at the mud hole with the kids from town never catching any thing but chubs, then we would head up creek to the little falls and catch sun fish ( I think longbeard has a pic of the falls some where here) we would build a fire and pack those sun fish in mud and feast till we were full. Do you remember Geo's uncle camp in clear run? Geo and I would walk all the way to clear run through the woods build a fire in the stove eat lunch walk all the way home, stop on the way back go swiming at the old reservoir, get my but chewed out because I didn'come home for lunch.

When you paid your way into the skating rink, you got a number on a pink or orange ticket like 22 or something. At half time you would skate and stand under one of the big BINGO letters they had on the back wall. If you were under the right letter and they called your number, you would win. Usually 3-5 bucks which was a good thing with penny candy still around

I remember that camp, a little old trailer if I recall, little for sure.
One of the biggest bass I ever caught was at the mudhole. I was all by myself, figuring I'd catch a few chubs. Threw a worm over by the overhanging tree limbs on the far side and Bam! An 18" largemouth bass, don't know where he came from. I put that baby on a stick and carried it down the tracks, instead of going across the footbridge, so I could carry it across the bridge and up Jefferson Ave. to show it off... ;D

couldn't wait till Friday night and ride the bus to go roller skating. Bought my skates through the Sears caltalog. (JC Higgins brand). They also use to run a bus to Reynoldsville on Friday or Saturday. Had a lot of fun.

Thats where I got my skates Bucket, I think my mom paid 12 bucks for them then. They were nice though. I think it was 75 cents to get into edgewood. If you had to rent skates I think it was 55 cents if memory serves me right, I always had my own though.
