Buddy Davis(peanut), and Leslie Kotzbaugh(sp?) both broke their legs the same year sledding. They were both in my class and had to be carried everywhere in their chairs! I want to say it was in 6th grade, but I may be wrong...seemed like 6th grade?

No red hair and not Deemer Ave. I grew up where Gene Gundrum now lives then moved down to Ridge Ave about 1968.
It was 3rd grade when Peanuts & I broke our legs. Sledding accident, down the hill in the alley between Ridge and Fuller? Ave's. I think it was Pringle's brick garage that I ran smack into! Mrs. Ankeny cut me no slack! ;D
Hey Peanuts....didn't we go "steady" back in grade school?

Third grade, okay, I thought I had that wrong. I think Peanut went steady with everyone! He was quite the ladies man. Do you remember Mrs. Ankeny saying, "I'll shake your toenails loose!"? Were you and Peanut ever Valentine king and queen? Seems I remember that.

About the sledding...Buddy and Leslie Kotzbauer each broke a leg as I remember. Mr. Tomb and Mr. Tudor would carry them seated on a chair, up and down the stairs in the school. I had thought, too, that it was later but as I read Leslie's comment i remembered it was third grade and Mrs. Ankeny not budging a bit for either of them. |

Donna (DMC)! I would love to see the class picture of Kindergarten and First grade if you've got it! When I left PA in 1973, little did I know I'd be back graduating from High School at FBC DuBois in 1985. Someone I graduated with, Doug Joseph, and I think that we went to K and 1st together...but we can't find class pictures...maybe you can help!

I only have Kindergarten as first grade took me to St Cate's. Yes, Doug Joseph was in our Kindergarten class! I'll try to dig it out tonight...where did I put that?

Hi to all!! I'm glad peanuts is doing well. Where is Patton Hill? I did a lot of sled riding but never heard of Patton Hill. I remember the ally behind the school where the Giberts lived. NOW that his was a rush!!!! I remember going down the terreces in front of the school, which was fun too.
